Etiological Research (Case-control studies ,Cohort studies )

Our experience in this field is documented in  International literature where we studied the etiology of deep venous  thrombosis by the utilization of hormone replacement therapy in post menopausal women (Thromb Haemost 199,oct,82(4)1218-1221).In another study (Scand Cardiovasc J 2000;34(1):73-78)we found that smoking represents the major cause            
of posterior myocardial infarction in young male. Also evidence of excess hereditary predisposition in women with angiographically documented coronary artery disease(Cardiology,1998;90(4):249-252.In another (Act Derm Venereol 2007;87(4):350-354)                           
 population based case control study we pinpointed bacterial vaginosis as the major risk factors for  vulvar vestibulitis. 

Diagnostic Research (Cross sectional design )

 Our experience in this field was to study the concordance of thalium scintigraphy as compared to invasive angiography in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease in patient with stable angina pectoris.
 Also the diagnostic value of ultrasonography in patients with palpable mammographically Non calcified breast tumors (Acta Radiol ,1999 Mar;78(3)191-197). 

Prognostic Research (Cohort studies)

We  have an extensive experience prospective cohort study of patients with valvular heart disease (Circulation,1996 nov,194(9 supl)II105-108 patient )surviving acute myocardial infarction (Cardiology 1999;91(2)<.119-126)and patients operated with aorto coronary bypass surgery(Eur J Cardiothorac Surg,1996:10(3)173-178.
 and patients with heart transplantation.(Eur J Cardiothorac Surg 1991;5(12)641-7.
 Also experience in oncology with patients with acute leukaemia((Eur J Hematology 1997,Aug;59(2)110-4. Head and neck cancer in Oslo.(Eur J Cancer B oral oncology)

Therapeutical studies (randomized clinical trial design)

Our experience is extensive as far large  randomized clinical trial in Oslo.
Namely autologous stem cell transplantation in acute myocardial infarction(N Eng J Med 2006,Sep 21;355(12):1199-209.Also warfarin ,Aspirin or both in acute myocardial infarction (N.Eng.J Med 2002,Sep 26;347(13):969-74.)
 Low molecular weight heparin versus aspirin in patients with acute Ischemic stroke and atrial fibrillation (Lancet 2000 Apr 8;355(9211):1205-10. Also transmyocardial      
 Revascularization with CO2 laser in patients with refractory angina Pectoris. (J.Am Coll Cardiology,2000 Apr ;35(5):1170-7.)
